We wouldn't recommend relying entirely on sat nav due to our rural location. Most sat nav systems are likely to send you down very narrow roads. More details on the best routes to follow are on our Find Us page.

Your room will be ready for your arrival between 4pm and 7pm. If you plan to arrive earlier or later than this, please let us know in advance so that we can make sure we are here to greet you. Please contact us if you are likely to be delayed due to traffic.

We have space on our drive for 3 guest cars. There is also a public car park next door which is free to use if you prefer not to park on the drive.

We would always recommend travelling to The School House by car as we are in a rural location with limited public transport. Our nearest railway stations are Bucknell (3 miles) and Knighton (5.5 miles), both on the Heart of Wales line. However, there are no buses into Chapel Lawn and taxis in the area are very scarce.

Our standard minimum stay is 2 nights. We may sometimes be able to take a single-night booking in the quieter months. If you want to book for just one night please give us a call on 01547 530836.

As long as you let us know in advance, we are always happy to cater for any specific diets. If you have any food allergies then please let us know as soon as you book.

We are happy to welcome one well-behaved dog in our dog-friendly room, Redlake. We are not able to allow dogs (except assistance dogs) into the dining room at breakfast if there are other guests staying. Please see our dog-friendly page for more details about staying with your dog.

We regret that we are unable to take guests under the age of 16.

The School House B&B has an electric car charger which we offer for the use of guests. Our charger is an untethered 7.2kW fast charger. You will need to provide your own Type 2 charge lead. Please let us know in advance if you will want to use the EV charger.

The School House is a non-smoking & non-vaping establishment both inside and outside the house.

We are not licensed to sell or serve alcohol or purchase alcohol on your behalf, but you are welcome to bring your own – we provide corkscrews, bottle openers and glasses in all rooms, as well as a silent mini-fridge to keep items cold.

Yes. We provide hairdryers in all of our guest rooms, as well as complimentary toiletries, bath robes, slippers and most other things you might have forgotten!
